Book Review: Christmas at Harrington's

Christmas at Harrington's
by Melody Carlson
Grand Rapids, MI: Revell, 2010

Lena Markham is a woman trying to escape her past. It is nearly Christmas and she has just been released from prison after doing time for a crime she didn't commit. With a small amount of money in her pocket and a promise of a job, she makes her way to New Haven, Minnesota. The job vanishes into thin air, but when a second-hand red coat gets her a job as Mrs. Santa, and she starts to make some friends, she begins to believe her life is taking a turn for the better, only to have it fall apart once again.

Melody Carlson has woven a lovely Christmas story about forgiveness and second chances. "Christmas at Harrington's" is a very pleasant read to help you get in the Christmas spirit.
