I just starting reading Heart to Heart: A Cardinal Newman Prayerbook (Christian Classics) and came across this quote in the introduction:
The purpose of Christianity is nothing more or less than the making of saints. The saint is one who is open to God, who discerns and accepts the mission she is given, who understands her sinfulness and frailty and trusts that God can bring about good in and through a frail instrument.
During this season of Advent, may we all work toward achieving that goal.
