Naaman the leper was taken aback because his cure was so simple. He was prepared to do great things to have his healing take place. Often we are like this. We wait for God to tell us to do great things, and then, we say, we will respond with a willing heart. More often than not, however, God asks us to do the simple things. God asks us to be a good person, to be kind to others, to care for our spouses and our children, to do our jobs to the best of our ability. Yes, sometimes God asks us to make radical changes to our lives, but often the call is to live a Christian life right where we are.
