The Beauty of It All

A reminder to appreciate the beauty all around us:

The Beauty of it All

by Carmel Michael Rizzo

I saw the sun rising this Sunday morning,
Across the spectrum of the dawn's jewels of dew;
The sunflowers shone in all their yellow greatness,
I had to marvel at the beauty of it all.

I saw the clouds stirring at the slightest breezes,
Across the canvas of the sky's most stunning blue;
The sparrows searched the sidewalks to feed their young ones,
I had to wonder at the beauty of it all.

What Artist could fashion such a striking scene?
What brushstrokes has there ever been?
What landscape of colors have eyes ever seen?
Arrayed in a setting of the most graceful green.

I saw the sun dawning this Sunday evening,
Against a backdrop of the most sparkling stars;
The sunflowers sleep as they wait in the darkness ,
I'm simply amazed by the beauty of it all.

I see the clouds moving in for a brand-new day,
And it looks like a storm is about to soon start;
The meadowlarks sing their mourning tunes,
I had to marvel at the beauty of it all.
