When I started high school, I was eager to start studying Latin. It just seemed so scholarly! I ended up taking three years there and went on to take a year of Ecclesiastical Latin in Graduate School. I'm now teaching my children some very basic Latin as part of their schooling.
I've always thought Latin was very cool. My children don't quite share my enthusiasm, but apparently quite a few people do. Latin is making a resurgence. Read more about it here: Latin Makes a Comeback
