Feast of St. Monica
Today is the feast of St. Monica and tomorrow is the feast day of her son St. Augustine. St. Monica is perhaps best known for perseverance in prayer. She prayed for years and years for the conversion of her son Augustine who was leading a sinful life. He eventually did convert and became one of the greatest Saints the Church has known. What greater testament is there to the power of a mother's prayers.
